During his speech at the closing of the National Conference on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Brasília, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva revealed that he had been advised by his wife, Janja Lula da Silva, to carefully choose his words. “This community has heightened sensitivity,” the First Lady reportedly cautioned the president.
“Today, when I came here to speak, Janja alerted me to something. She said, my love, be careful with every word you speak because this community has heightened sensitivity,” stated the President of the Republic.
“So, I decided to read to avoid saying any words that could cause problems for me. Also, if I say any words, you know that in this matter, you are the experts. You know that I am illiterate and need to learn a lot from you to properly care for you with the affection and respect that is necessary,” Lula expressed.
