Hamilton da Silva Teixeira, a fugitive from the Amazonas Justice system, also known as “Medellin from CV” (featured photo), was arrested in flagrante delicto on Tuesday afternoon (3/25) by military police officers from the 1st Platoon of the 2nd Tactical Force Company of the Roraima Military Police. The arrest took place around 5 p.m. at a gas station in the Jardim Floresta neighborhood, west zone of the capital.
Hamilton is identified as a member of the criminal faction Command Vermelho (CV) and had an outstanding arrest warrant. He fled from Manaus to hide in Boa Vista using a fake identity.
The capture took place during a patrol, after the police received a tip-off that a fugitive from Amazonas was armed inside a car. Upon locating the vehicle at a gas station, the officers noticed that the driver, upon seeing the police vehicle approaching, turned his face away, rolled up the windows, and tried to leave the scene quickly.
The car was intercepted, and initially, the suspect identified himself as Diego Guilherme de Souza Moraes but eventually confessed to his real identity. A check with the National Bank of Criminal Measures and Arrests confirmed the active arrest warrant and revealed that he was living in Roraima with fake documents.
During the search, Hamilton also disclosed that there was a firearm at his residence. The police went to the location and seized a 9mm pistol, two magazines, and 34 live ammunition rounds, along with drug doses.
Presented to a police station, “Medellin from CV” was charged with illegal firearm possession, use of fake documents, and drug trafficking. He remains in custody and is at the disposal of the Amazonas Justice system, where he is to serve a 10-year prison sentence in a closed regime.
