The match between Botafogo and Palmeiras, which will be held at 9:30 pm for the 17th round of the Brasileirão this Wednesday (17), already has another controversy involved. Fans of the Alvinegro Carioca hung two hanged dolls with the faces of Leila Pereira, president of Porco, and Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF, at the visitors’ section of the Nilton Santos stadium. “You are not welcome in Rio de Janeiro,” wrote a member of the Botafogo organized fan group on social media.

Executives, the club, and players have been constantly clashing behind the scenes since the last game between the teams, which resulted in a comeback victory for the Alviverde Paulista over Glorioso with a score of 4-3, boosting Palestra’s charge towards the 11th Brazilian title.

Neither the clubs nor the Brazilian Football Confederation have officially commented on the matter.
