Matheusinho’s absence due to illness impacts Vitória against Fortaleza
Vitória faced a last-minute setback for the match against Fortaleza on Wednesday (17), at 9:30 pm, at Castelão, for the 17th round of the Brasileirão. Midfielder Matheusinho was sidelined due to a viral infection.
Matheusinho will remain with the Vitória squad for the game against Grêmio in Caxias do Sul next Sunday (21), at 11 am, for the 18th round of the Serie A. Without the midfielder, coach Thiago Carpini lined up Vitória with Lucas Arcanjo, Willean Lepo, Bruno Uvini, Wagner Leonardo, and Lucas Esteves; Luan Santos, Willian Oliveira, and Jean Mota; Everaldo, Janderson, and Alerrandro.
On the substitutes’ bench, Vitória will have Muriel, Reynaldo, Raúl Cáceres, PK, Ricardo Ryller, Léo Naldi, Daniel Júnior, Osvaldo, Zé Hugo, Luís Miguel, Iury Castilho, and Lawan. Goalkeeper Fintelman and forward Fábio Soares, who traveled with the squad, did not make it to the bench.
